Song for Noa Amarú

Stacks Image 12

Story

I wrote this song for my grandson, Noa Amarú. Noa and my daughter lived with us from Noa's birth until he was two-and-a-half years old. Every night, we would carry him up to bed and sing 'Twinkle, twinkle little star' together as we climbed the stairs to his bedroom. It was a nightly ritual and a formative one, I believe, for all of us. Then they left us to go and live on an island far, far away. I missed them. The song was born from that 'missing'. The baby talk at the end of the song is Noa himself, when he was about one year old. I recorded his early morning talky sessions on my phone. Thanks for listening and sharing!
